On Friday, April 22, 2022, the multiplier event of the Speak English MOOC Project was held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Education of the UNED (National University of Distance Education) in Madrid under the title “Technology and European skills in the it was 4.0”.
In this event, Professor Edmundo Tovar, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and member of the project consortium team, presented the MOOC SpeakEnglish, under the Erasmus + Program and coordinated by the University of Bartin. In his introduction, he contextualized this competence between the soft skills that STEM students need, (majority among the audience of the event), and the importance that Language MOOCS (LMOOCS) have acquired and the particularities of these MOOCs compared to others. Later he explained the results of the needs study of the project target groups and the design of the course, carried out in the project. Finally, a demonstration of the use of the different learning modules that the MOOC consists of was done.
This presentation was accompanied and complemented by others related to the acquisition of other skills, in addition to English, in industry 4.0: on short programs for learning technologies, education and technology for the connected industry in industry 4.0 and impact actions in the industry.
At the end of the event, an online survey was carried out that showed a high level of satisfaction in the Speak English platform.
